For 20 years I was editor-in-chief of QUILT magazine, retiring in 2007. I now design quilts for several major fabric companies and for the leading quilt magazines. In the past year my quilts have appeared on the covers of The Quilter and Quilter's World magazines. More of my quilts were featured in Fons and Porter, McCalls, and Quilter's Newsletter magazines.
In my "retirement" I am available to quilters for workshops, programs and as a quilt show judge. I may have retired from full time editing, but I will never retire from quilting! I have new workshops, classes, and lectures available for 2010-2011. Download my flyer here (PDF).
I have recently co-authored a book, Circle of Nine, with Janet Houts. In this book we introduce a new and innovative setting system for quilts. It is easy to sew with spacers instead of sashings. Ask your quilt shop to stock the Circle of Nine or order your copy from Landauer Publishing.
Jean Ann's quilts often are chosen as cover quilts...
I have taught at major quilting events, including Quilt Festival, Houston; Quilting Retreat, Kanuga Conference Center, NC; and large and small quilt guilds throughout the country. I have presented programs at the Textile Museum in Washington DC, the Quilt Festival in Houston, and throughout England. As a quilt show judge, I judged the first International Quilt Festival sponsored by the Internatiional Quilt Association in Salzburg, Austria and the Quilt Festival in Houston plus other quilt competitions throughout the United States, England and Canada.
